No pets. We absolutely accommodate service animals. Please note that emotional support animals are not recognized in Colorado as service animals, so we ask that you make other accommodations for emotional support animals. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need help finding pet boarding services in Grand Junction or Rifle.
No smoking indoors (of any kind).
For your security and for the security of the livestock, there are outdoor security cameras and one doorbell camera. There are no cameras inside the home.
Other things to know:
You agree to forfeiture of your full security deposit if you smoke in the home, bring unauthorized pets, or host a party or event without authorization.
Please take note that this is a working ranch, and there may be ranching activities taking place from time to time. Please be mindful of the privacy of our caretakers and vet and do not film or take photos of them, though you are always welcome to watch.
For liability reasons and for your own safety, do not enter the pasture or any areas where the cows or horses are located. For their safety, please do not feed the animals.
This home is in a rural area. Due to their construction, log cabins are more susceptible than other homes to having cluster flies or other small insects enter the home during temperature fluctuations. If you are adverse to a few bugs, to wildlife, or the sounds or smells of a working ranch, this may not be the ideal property for you.
There may be adverse road conditions in the winter.
Due to the nearly ever-persistent fire danger due to drought conditions, we do not allow outdoor fires
No fireworks
Please do not dump anything outdoors which may attract bears or wild animals, or which could be potentially toxic to local wildlife.
This home is in bear country. Black bears have come into the front yard and may come up to the porch. If a bear comes onto the property, please use common sense, and stay indoors or in your vehicle as appropriate. Do not approach wild animals (to include elk, moose, and deer). Please do not leave food in outdoors in coolers or in your vehicle, as bears can smell up to a mile away. (For example, a local bear once broke into someone’s vehicle to get at a tube of flavored ChapStick.) Owners are not responsible for damage to vehicles from wildlife.
Please protect our septic system by limiting laundry to full loads and by not flushing trash down the toilet.
Trash service is limited to twice a month in this rural area, so if you have excessive trash or large boxes, please make arrangements to take it with you when you leave and do not leave any trash outside of the trash cans.
Please do not eat or drink in the bedrooms.
Please do not bring or use personal outdoor cooking devices (smokers, etc.) without prior approval.
Please note that this is our forever home, and we are sharing it with you while we must be stationed elsewhere. Please treat it like you would want someone to treat your own home. We absolutely love our community here, so please be respectful and polite to our community and our neighbors, as you represent us in your interactions.
